Coppiced woodland is an important habitat for many native species. It is also an excellent source of sustainable energy, as the trees are able to regrow after coppicing. Each parcel of woodland is at a different stage, thus sustaining different ecosystems.
With chalk grassland as the predominant soil type, the fields are well draining and diverse in wildflowers but without excessive carbohydrate levels. Analysis of the hay is available.
